Code of Ethics
Adopted August 1, 2026 · Applies to all accredited institutions and certified individuals
The Code of Ethics reflects the values that define APCAA and its community: integrity, competence, transparency, accountability, and respect. Compliance with this Code is a condition of accreditation and certification.
1. Integrity and Honesty
- Act with honesty in all professional dealings and provide truthful, accurate information in applications, reporting, and verification.
- Do not misrepresent credentials, experience, or the scope of accreditation or certification.
2. Competence and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and advance professional knowledge and skills consistent with current standards in your field.
- Engage in continuing education and comply with any renewal requirements for certification.
3. Transparency and Accountability
- Disclose relevant information that may affect the integrity of an accreditation or certification decision.
- Cooperate fully with any APCAA investigation, audit, or review process.
4. Confidentiality
- Protect confidential and proprietary information obtained in the course of professional work.
- Use personal information only for authorized purposes and in accordance with applicable law.
5. Professional Conduct
- Treat colleagues, clients, and the public with respect and fairness, without discrimination or harassment.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose them when they arise.
6. Use of Marks
Use APCAA marks and designations only while in good standing and only as authorized by APCAA. Unauthorized use, alteration, or transfer of certificates or credentials is prohibited.
7. Reporting and Enforcement
Allegations of violations of this Code may be reported to info@apcaa.org. APCAA reviews reports in accordance with its due-process procedures and may take corrective action, including denial, suspension, or revocation of accreditation or certification.
